The Modern Form is a small company that manufactures decorated and thermoformed proprietary plastic components.
The Econoline area was put together because I love these trucks and happen to be a website developer as well as a CNC programmer with access to many manufacturing processes. While working on my own truck, I put quite a bit of effort into solving problems and thought it would help other enthusiasts if I documented them online.
While researching brakes, I found that I wasn't the only one frustrated with the available options. So instead of hacking together an adapter, I put together a complete solution that could be installed easilly by other Econoline owners. The brake adapter works great and is a dual reservoir which is far safer than original equipment.
I also put together a thumbnail gallery of advertisements/images as well as an extensive list of usefull Econoline links. At some point, I'll actually put images of my own truck online. It is a 1961 8-window truck that is just too cosmetically rough to display. I also want to make as much information available as possible to other Econoline owners. Someday, I might even put everything under it's own "Econoline" domain.
Wanted:
I would like to post the following online for fellow enthusiasts to have access to.
- Exploded view of Econoline drivetrain, suspension, brakes, etc...
- Cross reference part numbers
- Specifications and measurements
- Unique solutions with photos (You'll be given credit)
- Links that are relevent and missing
- General Econoline information
I am also curious about other products you think should be manufactured. I am contemplating tailgate repair skins/hinges as well as billet dash components. I even thought about thermoformed belly pans (stamped metal ones are practically impossible to find). Tailgate skins are next on my agenda.
My other cars include a 62 Mini Cooper S (Morris Longman), 61 Consul Capri (13B rotary conversion), 62 Ford Anglia Estate (Kent cross-flow), 63 TVR Grantura MkIII (Griffith 289 conversion), 74 CJ5 (350 Chevy + reverse spring-over conversion), 67 Volvo P1800s, and a newer car that gets me out of town. All but the Capri need restoration. Someday, I may create website help pages for these as well.
